Five Fabulous Natural and Organic Cleansers

More and more natural and organic beauty products have been making their way onto my radar lately, and people are definitely starting to realise, that natural and organic doesn’t have to mean ‘doesn’t work’ when it comes to beauty products.

And with companies like Trilogy running with the ethos of “maximum effect on your skin with minimum effect on our environment” I think natural and organic beauty products are just going to get better and better.

Today I’ve got five fabulous natural facial cleansers to show you from a few different natural beauty companies.

Five fabulous natural cleansers

1. Weleda One-Step Cleanser & Toner – $39.90 (100ml)
Weleda One-Step Cleanser & Toner is a multi-use natural skincare product that removes makeup, deeply cleanses, clarifies and perfects skin. The active ingredient is natural Witch Hazel extract which works on all skin types, soothing and caring while refining enlarged pores.

This natural cleanser & toner from Weleda has quite a strange consistency – it has the exact consistency and colour of milk. The fragrance is described as citrus and it does have a strong fresh citrus and herbal fragrance. It cleanses without drying, but after use my skin doesn’t feel as squeaky clean as it does with other cleansers.

Weleda products are available from all good health food stores, pharmacies across New Zealand

2. La Mav Sweet Orange Foaming Cleanser – $54.90 (100ml)
La Mav Sweet Orange Foaming Facial Cleanser is a part of their ‘Purify and Clean’ range and is specially formulated to gently remove impurities from oily to combination skin types and contains bio-active ingredients including; extracts of Marshmallow, Sugar Cane, Green Tea and Orange.

This natural cleanser wasn’t quite as foamy as I was expecting and the fragrance wasn’t as zesty fresh as I had imagined from the name, but it left my skin perfectly clean without being drying.

La Mav Organic Skincare Science range is available at selected pharmacies, department stores, spas and health food stores across New Zelaand

3. Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser – $11.50 (125ml)
Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser keeps skin clean and reduces breakouts and redness and is suitable for all skin types, including oily and sensitive. It’s SLS-free (sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) or sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) are foaming agents, but can be harmful to our health.)

Sukin products are available in selected Farmers stores, pharmacies, and health stores nationwide.

4. Trilogy Cream Cleanser – $41.90 (200ml)
Half a bottle of certified organic Rosehip oil goes in to every bottle of  Trilogy Cream Cleanser, a rich creamy natural cleanser that has been a best-seller for 10 years! It gives a really thorough cleanse without drying and smells lovely.

Trilogy products are stocked in selected Farmers stores, pharmacies, department stores and health stores nationwide

5. River Veda Everyday Carefree Cleansing Milk – $34.00 (100ml)
River Veda Everyday Carefree Cleansing Milk is designed to gently cleanse and balance all skin types without stripping away natural oils or creating irritations. It has a zesty citrus fragrance courtesy of orange essential oil.

River Veda skincare is available online at www.riverveda.com

As you can see from the prices, these natural and organic cleansers don’t tend to come cheap, but if you can splurge, sometimes it’s worth it and I can especially recommend the Trilogy cleanser. The Sukin cleanser is much cheaper and more accessible (as well as smelling amazing!).

From the more day-to-day, affordable beauty companies, Nivea is releasing a full range of natural skin care products later on this year and I’ll make sure to tell you all about it as soon as it’s released!
