Hair from MBFWA 2012 – Day 1

Earlier I posted about all the makeup and nails from Day 1 of MBFWA 2012 and here are my pics of the best hair from MBFWA Day 1…

1. Hair by Dmitri Papas for Goldwell at Dylan Cooper MBFWA show.

The inspiration for the gorgeous up-dos at Dylan Cooper MBFAW were inspired by James Dean! Hairstylist Dmitri Papas explained;

“What we wanted to do was make long hair look short and create an androgynous look for the females and make it look really strong and striking.”

Goldwell hair products used: Goldwell Stylesign Power Whip mousse

2. Hair by Joh Bailey for TRESemme for Whitney Eve & We by Whitney Eve MBFWA 2012

I absolute love the braided mohawks created by Joh Bailey at the Whitney Eve & We by Whitney Eve show.

Joh Bailey explained:

“To create the look, we’ve teased down the centre and used a lot of Dry Shampoo to create a dry look, and then we’ve braided over the teasing, tucked it under and created two flat braids on the side. The only two products used were the Dry Shampoo and Hairspray”

3. Hair by Jon Pulitano for Redken at Gail Sorronda MBFWA 2012

I’m not sure about the wear-ability of this super-slick hairstyle created by Jon Pulitano for Redken at the Gail Sorronda show, but it certainly is catwalk-worthy!

4. Hair by Maria Ardino for Redken at Lisa Maree MBFWA

The super-slick ponytails by Maria Ardino for Redken at the Lisa Marie show are just stunning! And I think as well as being lovely to look at, this style is definitely achievable at home!

Maria Ardino explained:

“Today’s show is all about ‘Lucid Dreaming’, so it’s all about fantasy and a little bit magical. With this look, we’ve created a two-tiered twisted ponytail. What we’ve done is create the two contrasting colours with the human hair hairpiece in the ponytail.”

Redkin hair products used: Redkin Argan Oil 06,  Redkin  Rootful 06 and Redkin Forceful 23.

5. Hair by Sharon Blain for Goldwell at Camilla MBFWA

Sharon Blain created seven different hairstyles for the Camilla show, all with a bun on the top of the head paired with seven variations of ponytails or braids for the back of the hair, created with hair pieces.

I love this classy version of the Shoreditch topknot Craig Smith created for Miss Unkon, and similarly to those lovely sleek ponytails at Lisa Marie, this is a style that would be really easily achievable at home.

OSIS+ products from Schwarzkopf Professional were used to create the look.

7. Hair by Alan White for ghd at Manning Cartell MBFWA 2012

The hair at Manning Cartell was influenced by Frida Kahlo and her love of texture, colour, flowers and the earth. Craig Smith created twisted up-does accented with pops of colour.

Lee Preston created a cute twist on the classic ponytail by using two ponytails and tying them together in a knot.

9. Hair by Alan White for ghd at Ginger and Smart MBFWWA 2012

The models at Ginger and Smart wore braided mohawks, similar to those at Whitney and Eve, but much more sleek and structured and with bright pops of fluro colour to compliment the Ginger and Smart collection.

Alan White explained:

“What I did was take swatches of the outfits and then made those colours on weaves – and they’ve all got a fluoro tip to them.”
