I told you all about the new Maybelline products that are coming to NZ for Winter, well as well as getting a sneak preview of all of the lovely new products, I got to meet the fabulous Maybelline makeup artist, Nigel Stanislaus and he demonstrated how to get a gorgeous fashion look, using the new Maybelline products.
He started by using the new Maybelline New York Dream Nude Airfoam foundation as a base, which he smoothed over the models face with his fingertips, adding an extra layer to the (very few!) blemishes the model had, instead of using a concealer. Dream Nude Airfoam foundation was the only product Nigel used on the model’s skin, apart from bronzer.
For the eye makeup, Nigel used the old sticky tape trick, where you take a small piece of tape to guide your eyeliner application – you can achieve such a smooth, sharp line using this technique, so if you struggle with eyeliner try it – it works! You just paint on your colour without worrying about the bottom edge, then you peel off the tape once you’re done to reveal a perfect sharp line.
He used four different shades of Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadow – the purple, the orange and the teal colour, with the gold shade on the inner corners of the eye, then sharpened the line using Maybelline Gel liner.
Nigel finished off the look, by filing in the model’s lips with one of the new pink Color Sensational lipsticks, blotted with a tissue to mattify slightly, he then added a spot of the orange shade of Color Tattoo eyeshadow to the model’s lower lip – instant ombre effect lipstick!
The new Maybelline makeup products will be available in NZ from the end of July from Farmers, pharmacies and selected Warehouse stores.
